    Default A Question

I did a bit of a search on the net for steam locomotive plans and found almost nothing.

I also searched for Airfix model to use like Keith has done. No result.

Where can one get such plans or even plastic models????

I got my 1804 locomotive from Tates Toys in Geelong West

Hearnes Hobbies in Melbourne have plastic kits

I got my Stephensons Rocket from the UK on eBay.

If you google what you want, you will probably find a kit. I googled "Stephenson's Rocket Model kit".

The 1804 locomotive kit was just on Tates shelves.

    Regards

    Keith

it also depends on which loco plans you want. Museums are another source of information, when I was building model boats I could get plans from the Greenwich Maritime Museum so depending on which country the loco was built will dictate where to start.

Google Revell 02158. You can get a kit with 2 locos for $74. It wold be a big build though. 2 German Steam locomotives.

Libraries are not a bad place to start. A quick relatively crude search on the NSW State Library catalogue returned 5610 possibles.

There are some great wood models/toys in books from the US.

maybe check out some of these plans http://www.strombecksundesigns.com/Toys.htm
