    Default CMT Orange?

Just got my first CMT blade and it's not orange BOO HOO!

Seriously though I was expecting the Orange Teflon Industrial Coating
refered to in the catalogue. Is this normal?

    Normal,

my CMT combo blade has not been eating oranges either.
How much wood could the woodchuck chuck if the woodchuck could chuck wood?

I purchased a CMT blade for my RAS 9 years ago and it wasn't orange either but some of the router bits are orange teflon coated.

The printed catalogue is a bit misleading, however the website shows it not coated.

Anyhow it looks a quality blade for the money.

I'm off to give it a try!!!

    Red face orange CMT blade

    Guess what guys
My wonderful wife bought me a 10inch CMT rip blade for Xmas (2004) from Carbatec sydney. It is the thin Kerf blade.

Eat your hearts out it (is) was real orange (but the orange wears off real quick so don't feel that yours isn't the colour that mine isn't now).

I must admit though, colour aside, it is the best, smoothest blade that i have ever used, even for X-cutting.

I am just nit happy with the nylon spacer that comes with it to reduce down to my 5/8inch arbor size.

Yep CMT make nice blades. You can get metal reducers from Carbatec and Timbecon (timbecon cheaper at $3 each I think).

I did think CMT blades were also tops too until I tried the Infinity Combo Max blade recently (from the USA). Costs a bit more but very impressive cut quality and a fair bit better than my CMT combo blade, in my opinion.
Unfortunately, no one in Oz stocks these at present.

I cornered geof at carbatec on this one ages ago.
He said that getting them painted orange slowed the order down something cronic so they don't get it done for most of their blades anymore.
who knows its probably dearer too.
    cheers
Any thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
    Most powertools have sharp teeth.
    People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.
