    Default FRENCH CLEAT SYSTEM

Wow some of these sheds are huge and have great spaces
My humble little workshop is 6x10 ft.with no chance of enlarging it .
I wood carve so i dont need lots of equipment main use is the band saw.
So with storage a problem i decided to install the french cleat system its a simple system which is easy to change around with the holders made from of cuts of wood for each individual tool .Its the ease of use thats good about simple to change things around and makes full use of dead space walls etc.and saves rumaging through boxes .everything is at arms length and barley have to get of my stoll to get anything

I too have the same problem with space. My workshop is a shipping container, as I'm a rental property and the owner is not willing to put up a shed.
The container was the best way to go. things like the storage racks, tool racks, and clamp racks are moveable, the cabinet that the dill press Is on can move along wheeled tracks on the wall to the front of the container, the router bench is sitting on a cabinets fixed to the container door, this allows me to open the door and work out side with the router. under the raised floor is timber storage

Great idea with the french cleat storage.

Just a caution with the container - make sure you cannot be accidentally locked into the container, especially if you live alone. I know of a very recent incident where a guy became trapped inside a similar shed when a gust of wind slammed the container door closed & he could not open it from within. Luckily others knew he was in there, but the thought of a couple of hours (or worse) trapped really shook him up.
