Cecil E Mayo Pty Ltd. MAO Tools.
Hi all,
In conversation with a friend he asked me what I knew about MAO tools to which I was able to reply with some conviction " nothing".
Checking the Directory of Australian Manufacturers and Makers on the HTPAA website lists the mark MAO as Cecil E Mayo Pty Ltd of NSW. Manufacturer of Braces (ratchet and plain), T type wrenches, plumb bobs, trammels, hand/breast drills, marking gauges.
Does anyone have any further info on this brand?
Thanks,
Geoff.

The company still exists!
You could try emailing them for a copy of an old catalogue.

Here's one
Here's one - a MAO ratchet brace.
The markings on the angled bar nearest the pad are: MAO ABC No88 12in
Two jaw chuck accepts standard tapered bits. Ratchet is as good as the day it was made.
All in all, a very nice tool to use
Cheers, Woodie One

Thanks for posting those photos Woodie.
I hadn't heard of MAO before my friend brought it to my attention. I suppose I'll have to keep an eye out from now on. At least now I know what they look like.
Cheers,
Geoff.
