Default How to unlock iPhone 4

I have just received my daughter's hand-me-down iPhone 4. It was on the Telstra network.

My first problem is that it needs a micro SIMM card, my iPhone 3 uses a standard SIMM, so it doesn't fit.

After a visit to a Telstra shop, they gave me a new micro SIMM card and proceeded to transfer all my data onto the new card. Problem 2, it could not be done and suggested the phone must be locked.

I confirmed this with my daughter, and she gave me a lock pin No.

Telstra were not able to unlock my new phone at the shop and said it had to be done via iTunes.

Anyone know how? I have just downloaded iTunes.

in my case I've just changed network provider.

First, as far as I know, there is no known way to transfer iPhone contact data from an iPhone to a SIM card to take to another phone

2nd -- it's a relatively simple task to backup an iPhone to a Mac or PC and to sync contact data with the computer -- iTunes will normally do it without being asked to.

    Default unblocking iphone

    Hi Ian,

I am really dumb when dealing with iPhones, the phone contacts in my new phone I don't want, in fact I want to delete all of them.

Is this a painless excercise and can it be done using iTunes?

    Default All done, all sorted

Was unable to sort out my phone, so took it back to my daughter's place where she could get on-line. Apparently you can only erase the phone whilst on-line.

The next part was easy, my son cut down my normal size SIMM card to fit the micro SIMM carrier, and whallah, in business.
