Baby cameras
I made a couple of cameras for some 1 year old birthday presents for some friends of ours recently.
The lens was turned to round on the lathe, then one was cut out with forstner bits, the other one was hollowed out with a skew and scraper.
Padauk lens, cypress pine base, merbau top, and some lathe turned tasmanian oak button and spinning wheel.
All finished with several coats of shellack so that it is totally safe for bubs to play with and put in mouths etc.

FANTASTIC, something I would have never thought of as a toy in timber
The person who never made a mistake never made anything

Great.
Looks like something to make for the grandson. I will have to put a Ford logo on it though for Joshua.
Really like it.

Great idea Simon. Good to combine a bit of turning with general woodwork if you have the facilities.
Will keep this one in the memory bank for future reference.Dallas

I am loving this idea.
Great simple toy and allows the imagination to play.
