The dragster has been finished.....
With the birth of our 3rd grandson on Sunday, we had the other 2 boys for 3 days so the dragster was finished and painted....
The grandson did the painting and colour design himself with only a little direction from pa....
Cheers, crowe
PS - the younger grandson has asked "can you make me a car to paint please pa".....so next project sorted....

Congrats on the arrival of grandson No.3. I can see you being kept busy for the foreseeable future coming up with designs and making toys of all descriptions. Good job you have had plenty of practice.

I hope you know how lucky you are to have Grandchildren close enough that you can enjoy them. It is something I have missed out on in my life. The closet one to me is 230 miles (370 k) away. Yep, feeling sorry for myself.
Great dragster and the lad did a great job sprucing it up with the paint job.

Great paint job on the Dragster give the kid a pat on the back for me
Kool stuff when the kids get into it.
I don't know who came up with the colours but it reminds me of the Super Boss
drag truck from back in the day.
Cheers

The dragster has had an accident.....
The dragster has had an accident.....So back to pa's shed for repair and upgrading.....
The legs on the rear wing will be increased to 8mm dowel and the legs on the front wing to 5mm dowels.....glued with epoxy....
a repaint is in progress and then back into service....hopefully without siblings issues again, though should be stronger now....

Now to keep the peace.....
Now to keep the peace.....I've made a smaller less fancy build "hot rod" for the younger brother.....
Lets hope it works as the old brother did most of the build with pa on the dragster, so it's his, not his brothers....
Cheers, crowie

Our oldest (surviving) grandchild lives with us, with her mother. She recently turned five, and is very interested in what Grandad does in the shed.
I have taught her not to come into the shed until I say it is ok. She knows to stop at the rolla-door and call out to me to let me know she is there. She knows that if a machine is running to stand patiently and wait for me to stop the machine before calling out to me. She knows that she cannot come in without shoes on.
The other day she had a friend over. I was in the shed but just restacking things. She brought her friend to the doorway and I heard her explain that you don't go any further unless Grandad says it is ok and you don't shout out to Grandad until he stops a machine if he is using one. They both had shoes on. She called out to me and I let her give her friend a guided tour of Grandad's shed. Very entertaining to hear a five-year-old explain the workings of the shed to another five-year-old.
One of those little precious moments in life
They will be moving out in a fortnight after living with us for 18 months. 15 minutes down the road
Cheers
