Default Being a "grandfather" is just great....

Being a "grandfather" is just great....my 7 year old grandson & I have been doing SECRET MEN'S BUSINESS in the shed over the past fortnight...

Rielly was playing with a dragster shaped wooden block car I'd made for KindyGym when asked if he and pa could make one for him...

YES of course was my answer and off to the shed we went....

We managed to cut the rough shape and decide upon the extras & additions that first day...

Meantime pa got all the bits sorts....

Yesterday he checked that pa had done all the prep work satisfactorily then he glued and assembled the dragster....

I have to prime paint it during the week ready for his next visit to start the paint work....

What a top Father's Day gift for me... Cheers, crowie...

PS - I have a poster in the shed of Terry Sainty's TopFuel Dragster lighting up the back wheels as he launches down the 1/4 mile....

Sound like you had more fun than he did Peter. The car is looking good and he should have hours of fun playing with it knowing that he helped Granddad make it.

That's a cool little model Crowie. Not sure who enjoyed the making of it the most.
Spent many a day or night going to the drags in my earlier days - great fun.

Great work Grandpa. He will be the envy of the neighborhood. What a great way to get to spend time with Grandpa.

    Can you give some dimensions?

I noticed the Hegner Mk4 in the background of a couple of your photos. Do you use it for some of your toy making? After seeing it, I looked them up on the net and they look like quite a nicely made machine, especially for small stuff.

Yes Dallas, I use the Hegner for the small work, only a 6" blade so fingers are safer then with the 10" Bosch.....
Bought it off a bloke on forum a few years back... Cheers crowie
