Motorbikes for the grandsons that won't break....
I've made 2 motorbikes for the grandsons that won't break like the plastic & metal ones...
I've used the plans that Tony [aka genuine] supplied on his thread....
Made a set of templates, took up Derek's suggestion of contrasting timbers and hey presto 2 motorbikes....
Tassie Oak for the sides..
Recycled telegraph poles [eucalyptus] for the body...
Merbau for the wheels using a profiled wheel cutter...
Took me about 4 hours from start to finish; they need another coat of clear lacquer...
Thank you Tony for the plan

Thank you Derek for the timber selection idea....
The grandsons will have them given to them on the weekend just on or about the time we find out about our 3rd grandchildren...
Cheers, crowie

They look great Peter. Is that some templates in the background in case you make some more.
I agree with Trevor about sharing but that is what this hobby is all about, I have gained so much since I have been here and not just things like plans etc I mean friends if I can be so bold to call many on here as friends.

Yes Derek, I too have to agree!
It may just the internet but it sure feels like on big men's shed, a place were mates just hang out, share, help each other, thank you one and all....
Oh, and yes, that is a set of templates in the back ground, they made the build so much easier... Cheers Peter

Great job on the bikes. The grandkids will love them. Darn, I have two grandkids that are older, 15 and 17 that I wasn't doing the woodworking thing when they were little. I have one grandson that is 3 and the list of things to build for him just keeps growing. Gotta add another. The older grandkids are complaining, they feel they got cheated! What can I do?? I keep telling them life sucks!

Thank you one and all.....
The motorbikes have been a huge hit and have been played with all weekend as our 2 grandsons stayed with us.....
BUT the best surprise came this afternoon; another health grandson.....our middle daughter had a 27hr labour and now has 3 sons....
Woppie, more wooden toys to make; especially cars & trucks.... Cheers, crowie
