Default Daiso Tools for When You Have Time to Kill in a Shopping Mall

Next time you find yourself in a shopping mall with nothing to do ...

If there is a Daiso store, have a look at some of their tools in the Hardware.

Not a bit range, and different stores have different ranges of items, but all items are $2.80 each.

I have picked up some various things, spanners, 1/4 socket accessories.

I know that they are just carbon steel, but ideal for some everyday junkers.

Along similar lines but a lot better quality is "Tokyo Hands" stores. I don't know whether they are in Australia yet but a more fascinating place is hard to find for toolish things. I say "toolish" because a lot of their line are not quite fully fledged, on the job, heeey yah! type, he man, tools. Sort of model maker on steroids. Anyway, I defy anyone to leave one of these stores without a basket full of potentially useful items. On first glance you get a hobby or small job, impression of the tools on display but on closer examination its truly fabulous stuff and the huge array is basically irresistable. Not cheap but OK. I bought a heap of items such as small Japanese saws, levels, razor cutters, stopped rulers, callipers and a myriad of other bits and pieces. I was there exactly a year ago. I have maybe used a couple of the items purchased but they look great in the drawer (or rack) and I am not sorry. No sir. I love them. I loved buying them. I loved unpacking them. I like looking at them. I can't wait to go back and get more. I'll use one tomorrow, or maybe next week. Nurse thinks I use them all the time.

One thing worth picking up at Daiso is those miniature hand drills. Like watchmakers screwdrivers but drills. Down to 1mm.
    Apologies for unnoticed autocomplete errors.

The item from Daiso which I find I am using all the time now is a 1/4 inch "T Bar" socket drive.
    Not bad for $2.80.
These don't have to be CrVa steel for 99% of jobs.

If you are in Brisbane, Daiso in the Myer Centre has a bigger tool range than Chermside.

Dont expect too much here, as the store visit is mainly a diversion when you have spare time.
The small range, and type of items, mostly suit "crafts" people, but worth a look.

... "Lets go into (Brisbane) Queen Street Mall today for a casual walk".
    ............... later, in the mall,
......"OK, I'll just wander into Myer Centre Level 2 and check out some new (insert deceptive item here).
    ............... later
    ..."Whats in the bag?"
..... "Just some hardware for fixing the (deceptive item #2)".
