Router issues
My Triton router which has been mounted in a table for some time know has starting issues. When I flick the switch to turn it on, it sometimes moves a tiny bit then stops, or won't move at all, like its getting stuck. I got a new pair of carbon brushes and replaced them, but doesn't seemed to have changed. I usually just unplug it, give the bit/collet a spin (not with my hand), then plug back in and try again. Sometimes works, sometimes takes a few goes. Happens at anytime, ie. first use for the day, tenth use for the day.
Any ideas on what some other issues might be?
Thanks
Shane

Sounds like the speed control unit may be a bit dodgy. I don't have a Triton router but I've read that these can have a few issues.
Try a search for Triton router speed control. Those were the droids I was looking for.

Is it the TRA001?
If it is, it's the electronic governor - the speed limiter thing. It is trivial to replace. You can order them from any triton dealer or a UK mob.

Could also be saw dust in the on/off switch.

MOF001.
I did notice the thread about speed control just after I posted. Have to decide if its wise for me to pull it apart and have a look and buy a new speed controller(could stuff it up even more) or save up a bit more and just get a new router????
Thanks for the advice.

Taking it apart to replace the speed controller is simple - undo the screws holding he top (ventilated) cover and there it is. If you can't swap it from there, then my dismantling instructions are available here if you need them.
HOWEVER, what you describe could just as well be the field windings of the armature - in fact, if the router has ever stalled, or been stalled - that's most likely IME.

Thanks for all the help and advice. Unfortunately only have 1 day off work in the next 2 weeks so will take a while to see how it goes.
