    Try clearing your inbox and sent items. You can cut and paste the contents to a word document or similar if you need to keep the details.

    my 2 cents worth ...

    learn to read the grain in a piece of wood so that your machining cutting planing sanding processes are with the grain

    learn how to handle (cut shape smooth) difficult grain

    a professional woodworker I admire once told me that making anything in wood is a two stage process -- accurate marking out followed by accurate removal of unwanted material. If you can do both you have mastered more than 80% of what you need to know.
    This woodworker holds that the most important tool for a wood worker is a sharp pencil.

    learn all you can about joints and where to use them. Traditional construction methods are traditional because the passage of time has shown that they work

    my initial training concentrated on learning how to use hand tools efficiently
