Default How do you use a bosch drill sharpener?

How does one use one of these? I've inserted a drill into it but the grinding wheel inside doesn't rotate much, is it supposed to?1823803-bosch-drill-sharpener-1.jpg

Fully close your chuck, pull down the black sleeve , tighten it up and turn on the drill. The wheel should spin well. Mine works like a ripper.

Many moons ago (so about 20+ years) when I did not know half of what I know now, I bought a sharpener like that one thinking it would solve all my blunt bit problems. I found it a pain to not so much attach to the drill, but to clamp the drill and then it really did not sharpen the bit. Only tried it the once and it has been gathering dust ever since.
If I sharpen a bit now it will be on a bench grinder, or hang the expense and buy a new bit - more so for anything 1/8 (3mm) or under.

G'day Handy, I've had mine sitting there for a while too, paid a decent amount for it as well thinking it was going to solve my sharpening problems. I'd forgotten about it till now but I've been forced into having to review what I have and selling what I don't use. Like you I sharpen on the bench grinder and have been doing so for years, it works fine and is quick and like you I tend to buy the bits that are smaller than 3mm in diameter, have tried to sharpen those with mixed results.
