Toys for Charity

Our club has just had its annual breakup dinner and as part of the evening, members are asked to bring along an item or two (toys) to give away to those less fortunate at Christmas.
Below are a few that I made up for the occasion.

The rag dolls were purchased and my wife made up the bedding.

The kids who receive these beautiful wooden toys will cherish them for many years while having a whole heap of fun & play..

Great work Treecycle - these are fantastic!!

This is something that i too would like to do - make wooden toys to give to charity. With a couple of young children of my own, the wooden toy collections are filling our house fast so i have been looking for ways to continue to make the creations i love without having to upscale everything 10 fold and look into running a market stall (which with 2 children under 4, and a day job, i have no time to do anyway!!). I never started making wooden toys to make money (though have sold a select few creations in the past), but to explore it as a hobby and see the joy on children's faces playing with something where they can use their own imaginations (no batteries required - no pre programmed sounds).

I am not a member of any men's sheds or groups, but if anyone knows of organisations that accept wooden toy donations (especially in Brisbane) i would love to hear about them?
