    Default Miniature waddi box

A friend has just returned from three months wandering around Australia and presented me with two small pieces of waddi wood, that had been positively identified as waddi.

As you can see the pieces are fairly small. I put the small cut piece from the bottom sample and made a small lidded box. I was surprised that the waddi was not as hard as I had expedited, but was a bit abrasive on the tools. It did take a thread nicely.

The box is 36mm high and 28mm diameter. I was reasonably happy with the outcome.

When I see these lovely little boxes it makes me realise how much wood I waste.

Boy, that Waddi wood sure looks better on the inside than it does on the outside.
    Very nice little boxes, Jim.

I'm with Bruce - I need to start thinking smaller. A lot of my so-called 'scraps' would be perfect for little boxes like this. I don't think any of it's as nice as this stuff though.
