Tail Thumping Beaver
Just finished this one,it is from one of the plans Crowie has kindly sent me.It is about 10'' long & 3.5'' in height, enjoyed making it & it works well, think I shall have to buy myself some wheel cutters,I used a holesaw to make these but I think a wheel cutter would do a better job & quicker.I have a lathe but it takes time to set it up every time.
Merry Xmas & cheers from Peter

Another great job Peter. Wheels always seem to be a problem when it comes to efficiency of time to make a toy or model. If I don't need a super fancy or particular size wheel, I go to a toymaker that is not too far away. He cuts holes in toys/furniture he is making (19mm pine) using a holesaw, and then cleans up the outside on a sander to make them smooth and round. He only charges 20 - 25 cents each for either a 45mm or 60mm wheel. A bargain I think.
Wishing you a very happy Christmas tomorrow and promise not to hijack your thread this time.Dallas

WOW Peter, You've certainly done a first class job on the Beaver..... well done sir.
Good to see some of the plans actually completed, I'm struggling to get through my very long list..
Is it for a gift or is it for the markets??
On the wheels, I've found hardwoods work best with either the holesaw or the wheel cutter; just my tuppence worth...
Happy Christmas to you & yours, Cheers, Peter

Thanks Pawood and Crowie
After seeing this Beaver on the forum I thought I'd have a go at that. I'm going to make two, one is going to my neices son who has just turned 1 and the next one is bound for my yet to be born grand daughter.

Some slight mods due to available materials, all recycled accept for axles, finished with Tung Oil.
Cheers
