Default A small thumbing tool thing

Well that's what someone described it has lol.
You just got to love family.
A small carvers mallet brass and jarrah .
    And some spit and polish.
Thought I would try and be a little reserved on this one .
As some of you would know ,I have a taste for a bit of bling ,and over the tops nest ( I think I just made a new word)
So fire away with comments good, bad and
    gorges
    It's about 160mm tall .
The brass as a diameter of about 20mm.
So not really designed for house building .

    Hi Matt,

Very nice, I assume you made it for very fine work? I don't recall ever seeing a small chisel mallet for sale - it seems most people think heavier is better.
While looking at it I had a thought: Could you make one with different size ends so that your mallet could do lighter or heavier work?

    Cheers,
    Rob

    Hi Rob
Your perfectly right yes I made it for fine work.
    Like small dovetails extra.
    Heavy is sometimes good.
And small is sometimes good I supposed it depends on application.
You are right again you could make the brass a screwed fit.
So that to change the weight if you want.
But I'm not really a fan of one tool does it all kind of thing.
I would much prefer to say make three different sizes and weights.
Unfortunately I'm away from my creative zone for another short spell.
But here's a crap phone pic of another one I've just finished this is one is silky oak and brass inset this time.

Again it's for just small stuff.
Not what you would use say on a Tudor build lol.
    Cheers Matt
