Default My Hercus model c serial no 9963

Hi. First time poster. This is my model c my late father in law gave me, along with a mountain of other tools. Very grateful.

I haven't used a lathe since high school so I'm on a very steep learning curve. I dabble in car restoration and would love to be able to use the lathe as part of this.

The he lathe looks to be in good condition. Its 240 v which is handy for me. The FIL was using it so apart from sweeping off metal shavings, nothing has been touched.Attachment 336579Attachment 336580Attachment 336581Attachment 336582Attachment 336583Attachment 336584

Not sure why the pictures aren't working. They appear in the post preview. Any ideas?

Hi Catty, I'm a lathe-for-car person too. What are you fixing?

Hey mate. I have a couple of type 1 vw's. 66 and 69. 69 is a complete full body off job. 66 is a work in progress . It's suppose to be my run around while I do the 69. Just getting the garage sorted with all my new gear. Did a lot of renovations to the house so everything has been put on the back burner for awhile. Wife is expecting twins so I'll reckon I'll have enough time to get to know my lathe and not much else for a while.

I fixed up my (then) partner's T1 Bug and her Type 3 wagon. Now I have four 7 Series and a 5 Series BMW; two BMW MINIs (sedan and wagon); a Daimler Soverign S1 and a Suzuki Alto Works (tribute). It's the Daimler that I shall be doing the most work on, followed by the alternators on some of the 7s and the 5. I am also going to RaceWars with 2 of my toys. I have a thread on that project in the MOTOR area of this site. Twins eh? Woo hoo, lotsa fun for you!! My (rev head) daughter is 21 and has a 1970 Mach1 Mustang. You have it all to look forward to...
