Bench Grinder wheels ???
I have been asked if I know where to get white Aluminum Oxide Grinder wheels, 150x20x12.7, 80 & 120 grit. Can anyone help???
I know the 20mm wheels are not ideal for sharpening chisels but my mate is on a budget, like most of us!Russell (aka Mulgabill)

Thanks Nick & Fred! But he is looking for 20mm wheels as the spindle cannot take 25mm.

Thanks again Fred! The white alox wheels look a bit expensive though I will pass on the link all the same.

20mm white wheels were common 20 years ago, they were the norm for most bench grinders.
Over time there has been the change to 25mm wide wheels which has become the norm.
With this the 25mm wheels have become cheaper and more readily available and the 20mm ones mostly obsolete, or if you do find them they will be very expensive.
Save up and get a grinder that can take the standard 25mm wheelsJim Carroll

Thanks Jim! As a matter of fact I have just spoken to the old dude and virtually told him something similar, to save his shekels and get a new grinder. Unless someone can come-up with an supplier of the 20mm white aluminum oxide wheels, I will let the matter rest.
Thanks to those who have replied.Russell (aka Mulgabill)

Hi, try this mob, www.bolt.com.au, look under the abrasive listing/ tool room, 120 and 60 grit 160 X 20 X 32? $17 each. Found them on Google

I assume the 20mm limit is due to the covers. Another alternative is taking them off, or extending them with some thin plate joining the halves
