Keith, No worries bud. I figured you were joking... its just that somehow in the posts between you and Trev I had this mental picture of the poor guy having to pull over every 5 minutes to squat beside the tires of his van.... I figured that would be no way to spend a 7 hour road trip.
Now then Trevor... I have to think that you took more than one picture of a sunrise (and that from the back of your truck with the Indian in the way) on the entire trip.... You know what we say here in the states.... Without pics it never happened! So its time to share a few of those beautiful scenery photos we all know you took.He who blesses his neighbor in a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted as cursing!

Hi Johnnie,
The link below should get you some photos of the Otways - down the Great Ocean Road and inland.
Trev will undoubtedly have some tremendous photos.
Regards
Keith

All of the paint on the engine is automotive, except the crankcase and cover which are painted with squirts.
The stuff is usually pretty good so I'll try to match the paint.
But if I have no luck I'll go to automotive paint in full!.
I hope it all works out for you mate!!.
Sorry Guy's but I only took a couple of shots of the Split Point Lighthouse on the way home.
I wasn't really think much about photo's, just enjoying the beautiful drive.
Cheers
Trev.

Just high jacking my own thread for a minute.
I've enjoyed taking happy snaps ever since I first picked a camera up as a kid.
One thing I've found is that Stone and Sky generally look better in Black and White.
You can lift the contrast to a point were things appear far more dramatic than they really where at the time!.
Below are two sections of the same picture.
The first is the original and the second this the version that I posted.
I think it's fair to say the original looks a little washed-out when compered to the B/W version.
"The Digital Age" makes cheating so much easier!.
Cheers

Over the weekend I found that for some reason I couldn't quite get the heads of the engine to sit level.
After hours of trying to find the problem I finally noticed that the air inlet port on the left side is just a little taller than the right.
In the picture below I've marked the area on both heads (with red circles) were you can see that the left is slightly higher.
It may not look like much of a difference but over the length of the barrels it had the intake manifold sitting on an obvious angle.
So I took the left cylinder apart and sanded each of the disc's of MDF that make up what looks like the walls of the barrel between the fins.
I was able to remove enough to bring the heads back to being level as the straight red line shows.
The only other thing I've done in the last couple of days is to add the rivets and brackets that hold the drive chain cover to the crankcase.
The rivets are actually the ends of bicycle spokes.
Cheers
Trev.

Trevor, I have to agree that the B&W photos seem more dramatic. Just wish you had taken some more.
Keith, Thanks for that link man. Some of those pictures reminded me of the mountains and forests where I grew up. Of course there were no ferns in upstate NY, but water falls and streams and dense forest we had plenty of and I loved spending time hiking through them.He who blesses his neighbor in a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted as cursing!

Johnnie,
Hope I'm not highjacking Trev's thread, but the coastline down here is great. I am pretty biased though. The only problem is how many tourists we get in summer at Torquay. Can't get a parking spot at surf beach, shops etc. (Would like to see any Forum Member visitors though).
Good for economy I suppose. Enough of my complaining.
Trev the rivets look great. Many ways we can now make rivet heads, any other suggestions from Forum members.
The bike is coming along beautifully !!!!!!

Spent sometime messing around today to make up something to go behind the clutch cover.
I'm pretty happy with the way it's turned out.
I put together what looks like the front of the clutch.
It's just made from MDF and some bodyfiller the rivets are bicycle spoke ends again.
I found out an interesting thing today about the small opening in the front of the timing gear cover.
It's meant to be a inspection window to check that the oil is circulating (arrowed).
I'll definitely have to get some Perspex and silicon so that I can have some oil in it!.
Cheers
Trev.
