    Default Wind Turbine

    Hi guys,

Took an hour off from working on the Lion to make up something for my just turned 3 YO Grandson. He has an obsession with wind turbines. There is one on the way from his house to ours and have to stop in wonderment at it every visit - either his dad or me.

Made this out of a 3 blade plane propellor I had lying about ( I make model planes as well as trains). The centre core is made out of 25mm OD aluminium pipe. I made the top cover out of 25mm aluminium bar and araldited it in. 1/4" BSW thread and washers. Base 70 X 35 pine. Primed with white spray. Josh will love it.

Any other grandpa's with the same grandson obsession ?

    Regards

    Keith

Is that the one near Breamlea? I can't think of any others around the area.
Josh should be chuffed with that one.

    Hi Crowie,

Thanks for asking about the planes. A bit embarrassed to show them - quality not that great. My first real go at modelling. It was whilst I was still working and time was the essence. Quantity more than quality - but you asked for it - here goes - (photos not in order)

    Spitfire
    Curtis Warhawk
    P51 Mustang
    Sopwith Camel
    Fokker Triplane

Good to look back to see where you can improve on detail.

    Best Regards

    Keith

Hi Derek, I'm sure he will love it. Above the planes is a T Model Bread Van that I made.

    Thanks Crowie,

I think you have seen my Fire Engine - A Model Ford (of course)

Josh LOVED the Wind Turbine. Had it by his side all night. It's now gone to his place (Which I intended). Will have to make another to reside here.
He also loves buses - Where do I get the time to make a bus and work on the Lion ?

    Regards

    Keith

In between working on the Lion, I have made another Wind Turbine for Joshua. He can keep this at our place if he wishes. It has a bit of a twist to it. I have screwed an Emergency Services vehicle to the base. Josh (although only 3) will go onto You Tube and look up Wind Turbines and likes the one that catches fire. Well - so do I !!!
