Default Not actually a toy, but...

Daughter wanted a toybox, and sent me an ebay link "but I want it bigger". So I sketched up something 'bigger' (1200x450x375), and the next time she came round tried to get her to picture it. So I have 400 x 400 tiles on the floor, and I said it's 3 of them wide, by one and a bit deep and yay high. That's perfect she says.

So I went ahead and made it, and she says "I didn't think it was THAT big". It has been decided that it will fit...somewhere.

Great looking box -- hope the grandkids appreciate it

I always get the "specifier" to scale the size with their feet or arms -- three 400 tiles is about two steps -- or ground to chest height

It may not be a toy but it certainly is for holding them. A great looking box and should last for years

Very nice looking box. I like the hinge setup and the gas strut certainly makes it safe. When I made one for our kids they got a few bonks on the head before I put a hinged locking arm on it to prevent it falling.

I tried a gas strut, but couldn't get it to work, and I guess the lid isn't heavy enough to get it to go all the way down. I ended up getting one of the friction ones from Bunnings, and it works a treat. $17 versus $42 for the strut, makes them good value.

The box has gone to it's new home, and now to make the other one.

Now you will have to get busy making some toys to fill it.
