Default Occre Portable Work Bench ( Work area) build / review

    Hi all
Well as promised hear is the workbench build & review.

It was purchased on a whim from Occre.com direct with two other kits. It only cost $40EU or $58 AU so I Didn't expect to much. Its not a full workbench, but for a hobby storage and small work area.
I didn't have space in the garage to move around and my current area is a piece of 600 x 900 hardboard sitting on a Tool chest in the study.

    The thing is not huge (445 H x 572 W x 230 D) but fits my old area perfectly.
It come with 7 draws and removable top for holding models while working on them.
It is made of 4mm 5ply plywood and needs staining / painting off the top unless you don't care.

The laser cut work is excellent but there are burn marks on some of the wood cut surfaces.
The plans consist of 1 A4 page with 2 sides dedicated to the build ( see photos)

See you after I have stained her up.

Default Putting it together and review

Staining up all the bits with Cabots Ceder water base gloss and assembling

The parts were cut really well and required no sanding to fit. They could not be put on the wrong way as each piece was cut to only fit one direction.
    It went together very quicky.

    Here is the finished product.

The top tray fits on to slots for support but lists off for other use. The Boat hull rails at the top are removable and have rubber tubing attached for protection.
The drawers are the standard plastic trays that come with Occre Kits and there us room on top of them for two more.

Its not a replacement for a full workbench, but for a hobbieist & space saving in my opinion was worth the money.
I have not seen anything similar. Once it is out together together it is fairly sturdy

I hope anyone looking at these is now better informed. I have not seen any other reviews.

The top is the size of an A3 cutting mat for comparison.

Happy to answer any questions you may have

Default Modeller's Benchtop Organizer & Jig

    Thank you Paul,
It seems more of a "Modeller's Benchtop Organizer & Jig" and looks a great aid to keeping the tools, bits & pieces all in a proper place as the model takes sharp.... well done sir...
    Cheers, crowie
