    Default Elm Dining Table

I am making a dining table out of elm and the finishing is more difficult than usual. The elm had started to rot which has left some soft patches the worst of which I have stabilised with casting resin, the sections I had were also limited in size so some of the legs have been laminated. I want to try and get a finish that won't change the colour too much. Initial thoughts were dewaxed blonde shellac perhaps with wiping varnish over the top. I have attached a photo of the WIP. Any input very welcome.

    Thanks

I think the blonde shellac would not colour it too much. Might try it first under the table first.

Thanks Christos I came to the same conclusion and have around 6 coats of Ubeauts pre mixed hard blond shellac on the bottom. Looks like it will take awhile but will give the result I want.
