Default JessEm Dowelling Jig Metric (8350)

    Hi WWF

Back in July last year I decided it was time to invest in a quality dowelling jig. After much research I was convinced that the JessEm 8350 was the way to go. Only problem being it only came in imperial dowel sizes.

After many inquiries to JessEm (aka pestering) JessEm are about to release the metric version.

We officially have all the guides made up in 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm. We are running the bushing as we speak for all sizes. We have the material in for the plates which will be run early next week followed by the bottom angles. We are shooting to have this item shipped to our dealer in just over a months' time. We will be informing them shortly, to see if they would like to start pre-orders. Either way, we are making enough products for 250 sets and if they sell out quickly then more will be ready to go only weeks later.
Will keep you posted on the progress

I guess if you will be doing a lot of dowel jointing a purpose jig is worth it but for those who only do the odd dowel project there are hundreds of jig ideas on youtube and other sources. I liked the look of this one.

ha! At 19 seconds you can see where he has made his own "Incra Fence". Good stuff. This is one clever dude: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvJbpU3NSwU - make your own pocket hole plugs

OP, where will these be sold in AU? I ask as I've a few jobs that the Festool Domino is too fiddly with and the video on the Jessum site showed a few interesting features/uses.

That'll do me. Where would one buy bushings like that? They look like plumbing supplies.

14 months of enquiries and now finally the metric version is available.

You can order one through Greogory Machines

I ended up getting a Domino so no need here any longer
