This area seems to produce quality timber, irrespective of species.
Maybe soil and climate have a play in this
Certainly the 'Blackwood' (Acacia melanoxylon) from this area can be breath taking
There wasn't one faulty Mango log either...they were growing in a protected, fertile valley...MM

I purchased a handful mango Slabs of the MapleMan a few months back now and wanted to show how good it is. The photo is a bit washed out but the grain on this timber is great. These boards have only been finished on a thicknesser and are a bit furry but with a bit more drying and a run or two through a drum sander they'll come up even better again! Every slab or piece of timber I pick up has crazy figure in it. Even a few bits I deemed too small for personal use got picked up by my parents who ended up using it for their little projects. When they sanded it, it had beautiful figure throughout it.

I personally can't wait for it to dry further so I can get a heap of book matched tops for future guitar building, and dining tables, andbox making and on and on

Thanks again MapleMan, I seriously can't thank you enough.
