It came up a treat Derek. Up to your usual standard.
Do the winch drums have some sort of locking mechanism, or do they just rely on friction to prevent the bucket and boom from falling?

They rely on friction I know that they may become loose over time, I did think of making a ratchet system but he is only 2 at the moment

Derek - your crane has come up fantastic.

Love it - - won't say anything about your woodturning, LATHE work, (don't want to upset Trev) plus the other guys have used all the puns

Can't wait to see what to build next !

    Congratulations

    Keith

OK Keith I will not mention it either.

Anyway He TURNED up today to picked it up and wanted to stay and play with it, he did not understand that he could take it with him we had to laugh. So it was well received by him he found some plastic bricks to put in the bucket.

You are lucky Derek, to satisfy our grandson it has to be a hidden Kinder Surprise - Do they have those in the UK ?

That,s what it is all about the kids and how they get the enjoyment out of it and the pleasure I get not from only making it but seeing the joy on their faces when they receive it and play with it.
If you mean the kinder eggs then yes we do

You're absolutely right Derek there is nothing better than when the grandkids come into the workshop ans say can we make something and they do or the joy they have in playing with something you have made it is a great pleasure.
    Regards Rod.
