I'm not loving my Incra TS LS
I know it is sacrilege but I am not loving my TS LS. Hard to put my finger on exactly what I don't like but there's a few things that bug me. Perhaps I've not got it set up right or something:
1. It only has 700mm of travel without moving the base. I know you can move the base and use one of the other rulers to keep it all accurate, but that's all a bit of a pain.
2. The sliding of the fence isn't brilliant. It takes more effort than my old beisemeyer fence.
3. The fence has a 5mm gap under it, which means that I need an auxiliary fence to cut thin stock. Which leads me to the next thing...
4. I need to make a pile of new auxiliary fences - for my dado stack, a tall fence, etc. and I have to lock the Incra fence at the front (and back too).
5. The accuracy is great, but not really any better than the wixey digital gauge. In fact. The wixey was way easier to read.
6. I could just lift off the old fence if I wanted to use the saw table for something else. Can't easily do that for the Incra.
Proceed to tell me how I have it all wrong!

I have an Incra LS on my router table and love it, have a Wixey Digital Fence on my tablesaw and love it.
I was going to buy a TS LS for my tablesaw but the Wixey was released and I could see that it would be more suited for a tablesaw.
Having said that, I wouldn't swap my LS on the router table for a Wixey, horses for courses.
As for auxiliary fences, yes I have some for special jobs, can't get away from that I think.

I had one on a contractor saw, Sold it about 18 months ago and replaced with a standard fence. Have not looked back....
Found it difficult to move and align, the alignment screws stripped out and was particularly difficult to set up.
Also the fact that you have to lock both sides front and back every time you use it really was a pain...

Huh? The basic model has 810mm of travel so you've done something wrong.
Sounds like your table surface is not flat.
Nooooooooo. My gap is just big enough for a sheet of formica to slip under but nothing else. Again, either your table top resembles the surface of Mars or you've not followed the manual properly.
Of course you have to make aux fences, whatever system you have. The Incra only needs to lock in the front. Quick twist of the knob. Dead easy.
The Wixey doesn't allow you to cut repeatable thin strips and doesn't allow you to go back to an exact setting months later if needed.
Yes you can, just loosen the front locking knob on the fence, loosen the knobs on the positioner base and lift off. Takes 20 seconds at the most.
You obviously did something wrong then. You don't have to lock back and front, just the knob nearest to you.
At the end of the day, the Incra system does require some degree of finesse and patience during the installation process. Thereafter it's so easy.Last edited by Big Shed; 24th June 2015 at 09:26 AM. Reason: Let's keep it nice shall we?

I think the issue is that the rails aren't parallel to each other and/or the table. Probably because I'm trying to fit them to a tablesaw with a sliding table which has required some compromises.
What I'm trying to work out I guess is whether it is worth the effort. I think I need to strip it all down and remount the rails. Then set it all up again. There's a few issues connecting the rails to the saw as the old rails hold up the sliding table. I suspect I need to address a few of those issues before it will all work.
Or I could go back to my wixey and beisemeyer.
