Even though the painting is not yet complete the model looks fantastic, I can't wait to see it fully painted

I cant either! I got the boom painted and also got the hydraulic cylinders done and instead of watching the paint dry I got a real good start on the flashing beacon on the roof I stuffed three small flashing yellow LED s into a plastic tube the kind that you get when you buy a single flower it fit just right , and I also figured out what I am using for the the thirty spray tips. now how to make the six auxiliary work lights? the white GPS receiver should be easy003.JPG

    Hi,
I think a cable connector would be a shoe in, if you have not already thought of them.

Well a few more pieces done the flashing light turned out good they a flash at different speeds so it looks like a rotating beacon! just what i was wanting now to paint some more small wire for the hydraulic hoses I found a size that fits just right. got all the stuff cut up for the spray nozzle tips and the GPS receiver made and waiting to be painted. still trying to figure out the six oval auxiliary lights but I think Im giving up and they will be round I will be the only one that will know, well besides all of you. ps dont tell anyone.Ha Ha. Now on to plumbing Copy of DSC02786.JPGCopy of DSC02783.JPGCopy of DSC02781.JPGCopy of DSC02785.JPGCopy of 019.jpg

    G'Day Tracker,
With time, effort and detail you've put into this very cleverly built model/toy,
    PLEASE Sir,
Take the extra time on the paintwork that's needed as anything less will take away from the magnificence of the build...
You are one very talented woodworker/craftsman.........
    Cheers crowie

    Agree with Crowie,

Can't offer a suggestion. I have never done just one coat. The paintwork and preparation is paramount, but I am no expert - have a look at Trev's (Repliconics) motorbike threads - immaculate work

    Regards

    Keith

    Hi,
If you tint the under coat the same colour as the top coat or mix enough top coat with the under coat to colour it, you will only need one top coat but that still makes two coats.

Thanks for the support guys I just have to be more patient when it comes to painting. Any way I got most of the plumbing done and a few other small things, seems like the small stuff takes forever but adds the biggest wow factor.Copy of DSC02804.JPG
