3ph 415v backward curve fans
Thought I would ask before I tossed them out.
3ph 415v backward curve fans. star wound only...cannot convert to delta as they are sealed units
2 off. came off a enclosure (switchboard) cooling unit.
Both in good working condition.

What size are they?
BTW Even though they are not wired as delta these fans will still run at the same speed on 240V 3phase.
However the "fan curve" will not be the same as for 415V operation.
This means if any restriction is placed on the fan by ducting or filters the fans cannot continue to move as much air.
But for simple unrestricted venting they will still work quite well.

thanks for that Bob
small one
56w 2550 rpm. Impeller dia 190 x 50wide
larger one ...cant see as needs to pulled out and cleaned to see inf.
But as it condenser fan (CF) it will be slightly bigger capacity than above as they (CF's) need to push more air. Imp dia is 220 x 40w

re Fan
Guys
415v 3 phase is actually- the same thing.. we are used to 240v single phase
and it is unlikely a fan that size is 3 phase unless it says soWorking on inserting a bit more eccentricity into the bearings of life

what is the same thing?...415v 3ph and 240v 3ph?
and as for it being unlikely, I point out that it is very common to find fans of this size and even smaller in 415v 3ph.
The manufacture who uses these make refrigerated enclosure cooling units. These can be in various voltage configurations and a lot them are just 3 phase input. Some are single. Some are 3ph input but run single ph fans and compressors? I cant see the point of the latter but?...but that is what they do....fit a tranny...why???
Here is a pic of the fan in question 20150706_072017.jpg
and a refrigeration compressor that is available in 3 ph. (the one in the pic is single) (CRC can to depict how small the comp is) 200watts refrigeration.

got to get around to cutting it open one day to see what makes err made it tick...only had it 10yrs...lol
I understand there is an even smaller one (size) but I havent seen one...yet

3 phase fan
Ok looks like it's a 3 Phase Star wired Fan..
the 400v it refers to is the phase to phase voltage..
on normal single phase 240 v which is Phase to Neutral on 3 phase it is referred to as 415v 3 phase.. European voltages are 'slightly different so that's why it would appear as 400v
It will run a fraction hot not enough to matter I suspect..Working on inserting a bit more eccentricity into the bearings of life

yes I know all that...these motors are built to with stand a variety of differing voltages and hz...hence the 460v at 60hz also imprinted on the motor...but most motors will run at these voltages/hz as well with out any mods.
but my point is..its not uncommon for small fans to be 3ph.... not in my industry anyway.
dont forget these are free. only postage required or u can pick up

Hi Eskimo,
For postage, can you give me a parcel size (XxYxZ) and a weight for both units
Pete
PS on the 3 phase size thing, I seem to recall FIL saying that one of his model airplane motors is 3 phase, about the size of a D size battery.

Hi Pete
small fan including inlet ring plate is 335 x 230 x 90 and weight is 2.5kg
Larger fan including inlet ring plate is 270 x 235 x 120 and comes in at 3.3kg
