Hi Trev, just wondering what you're using to trace the drawings with?

I use a basic paint programme.
First I scanned each of the sheets in halves as the originals where to large to fit.
Then joined them back together in paint.
From there I enlarge them 200% making each of the sheets a little over 8000 pixels wide.
Which is as far as my computer can be pushed before it has 50 fits!.
I'm guessing it must be pretty close to the limits because the computer's asking for programmes to be closed to operate paint.
But paints the only one open at the time!.

From there I overdraw the image and delete the background as I go.

In the picture above you can see I've erased the original with green, then drawn it back in orange (two good contrasting colours).
The slightly wider green line under the orange makes it easier to remove the surrounding pixels.
After I've isolated the line I erase as much as I can around it and turn it to the blue of the print.
When I've worked over the entire sheet that way I erase the orange leaving them white.
I'd like to say instant Blueprint but it takes quite a bit of time.

Still good fun if you like that sort of mind-numbing work "Which I Do".

In the end you get an image that is very close to the original.
    It just takes time.
Hers one of a J.A.P 90 Bore that I finished a little while ago.

Sorry about the low res images but I learned my lesson when I was building the Indian.
I put some of the logo's I'd done for the bike online full-sized.
In no time they where up for sale on a website as stickers.
    Wont do that again!.

    Cheers
    Trev.

These are coming along just great Trev and thank you for having spent such a time on them. Do you mind saying which "basic paint program" you use.

Unfortunately there are people out there that let others do all the work and get all the benefits, they are just to lazy to put hard work into something.

It's the paint programme on Windows 7 I'm using at the moment.

I've put a week or so of work into sheet two of the blueprints.
I should have it finished by the weekend.

For a guy who's never built a model of a ship I'm getting to know a lot about them.
Although some of the terminology used is not the sort of thing you can bring up in every day conversation.
Things like Lubbers Holes and Futtock Shrouds could inadvertently raise a few eyebrows!.
Still good fun I'd imagine if your at the right kind of party.

    Cheers
    Trev.

2/3 maybe a bit over the top even for me.
But you'd reckon at 9 feet it would make a hell of a pond yacht.

    Speaking of buccaneers.
After a little research on the Golden Hind and Sir Francis Drake it turns out despite what my English history teacher had to say.
Drake was a dead set pirate!.
He may have been the second man to circumnavigate the globe, but he did his fair share of plundering along the way.
No surprise the Spanish got a little miffed.

I reckon your right about him being a fair bowler.
Although back in those days of chivalric honour and gentlemanly conduct, I'd imagine anyone seen to kill an end with a drive would be dealt with accordingly.
    "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS".
    Ah the good old days!.

    Cheers mate
