    Default Gympie

    Hei guys,
Need to move in about 6 weeks and Gympie is a spot I'm considering.
I have been told Gympie southside is pretty rough and high crime, anyone live in the area and able to give me some information - any parts of Gympie I should avoid.
    Cheers
    Paul

    OMG! GYMPIE.
NO, NO, NO STAY AWAY. You'll be a redneck inside of a week.

Any town, city etc will have its' elements. Unavoidable.
I have been to Gympie many times and lived close by in a little township out west of Gympie.
Never had any problems. Most people are OK.

If unsure, drop into the local cop shop and have a chat, talk to the mens shed etc.
They will all have an opinion.
Drive around the suburbs and see what the neighbourhoods are like.

    Good luck house hunting.

One thing to look out for is whether the gardens are neat and tidy, or messy, also burn out marks on the road. First thing I looked for shortly after we lost our home and were renting for a while.

Real estate agents are a good source of information regarding where the pockets of the bogan elements are.

It's as bad as they say

Lived near enough for long enough...it was our closest shopping town. It might be ok in places, but for the most part it's banjo's and moonshine. Town planning and streets a direct result of it being an ex gold mining town. And it floods a lot.
