Hall Table
Using a small bit of the Cape Lilac (Burnsey will be pleased) that I've had behind the shed for several years now I decided to make a hall table. Didn't want to make a spindly leg structure so I went with something different (for me) and used clear acrylic. I think it works well and MOST import the better half likes it. My apologies for some of the photos not being the right way up. I'll be getting some very small figurines of fish to place under the creek, but I think my biggest challenge will be sourcing a suitably sized and decent featured figurine of a boy fishing (I would like one like the Boy fishing from the crescent moon as per the DreamWorks pictures but they don't make em).

Nice table and a very creative design. I love it. A couple of carved animals would look beautiful.

Very unique table (well, i've never seen one like it anyway).
I like it a lot. Nice timber too.

Hi Snapper, I was just about to load a photo via the computa but we just had a power failure so I'm now on the tablet to which I haven't figured out how to attach a photo using this contraption yet. However to shape/cut the acrylic, firstly I laid tracing/baking paper over the two lenghts of timber which were set at their finished table top width and traced the shapes for both sides, then cut the paper to the shapes, these were then laid onto 6mm MDF and marked the shapes, I cut the MDF using a fine toothed blade in the jig saw and cleaned the cut edges buy sanding them. The centre panel was the template for routering the the blue acrylic whilst the two side panels were used to router the curves and recess into each piece of timber. The photo will clarify, when the power returns. Here we go the power is back.
