    Default Out of mischief

You have been a busy lad. I was under the impression that the extension was going to be at the back and to the left of the existing shed. Will have to look back at your posts to refresh my memory. Digging is one way to warm yourself up on these chilly days, better to do it now instead of the middle of summer.

Hope all goes well with the extension.

I see your taking over the sunny spot all the GTG mob stand in the sun Now they'll just stand in the shed instead.

Lot of hard yakka in that Bret should have thrown a weekend GTG and it would be just about done by now.

I think the shed ext is still going to the back. This is just the beer garden deck. Or in Fletty's case the wine tasting area.
Wasn't there a Japanese maple in there?
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Yes, ext still going on the back and to the left (as per the plan in post 1).

The Japanese Maples are behind where I'm standing to take this pic - as it was during the last get together:

Indeed it is Uncle. I've been at it non-stop for a month now. The snow day was a rest day, and just a few brief showers gave me some time off from it (there's hardly been any rain for the last month). Not doing it in summer has been on my mind constantly - even on the very cold days of ~6-8° + breeze or wind I've had the jacket and beanie off after a while. I get really bad beanie-hair.

Professor Google is at your service or just go to a Mitre 10 or green shed and ask for it

You're dead right Bob - or replacement......

Planning on a review of dust collection when the extension is done. A slight hiccup to work around is the 5" outlet on the Hammer thicky but I'm pretty sure i can fix that to some extent. That's a mañana job (not a whole bunch of yer actual shed work happening atm).

    Default Supervisor

Will the next Blue Mountains GTG morph into a shed christening?
Rather like your supervisor sitting out the front. 'Spose he was waiting to see how good a job you were going to do for his new kitty litter site.

Have fun working out the layout for the electrics, always a fun job.

    Keep up the good progress.

    Default Before and after

This was the middle of the yard when I moved in 5 years ago:

    After clearing and levelling:

The maximum depth of the dig was about a metre:

The pile of fill is where the vege garden will go. It will extend down to the paling compost bins.

    Lots of work there FF.

Reminds me a bit of my shed build.

In 1994 after our house extension I took out 15 m3 of soil to terrace the back yard.
Then 16 years later to extend the shed and get it level with the old one I brought back 8 m3 and 72 limestone blocks for a retaining wall.
All done with with a small barrow as we have very limited rear access.

Anyway good luck with the rest.

Your lucky Brett, when we built our first house after married, it was a block with a similar slope, it took 12 months with an AEG 10mm hammer drill , 3 cold chisels and a lump hammer to carve out a verandah on one side 4.8 x 1.8 out of a sandstone rock shelf.
The person who never made a mistake never made anything
