I'm Afraid I have Blown My Budget
I ahve been steadily building up my tool collection (hybrid - love using hand tools but too lazy to do everything by hand) both hand and power and been on the lookout for bargains. I am afraid I have a weakness for quality tools but am not ashamed to go for bargains as well.
I saw an add in gumtree for a Veritas Sliding Tail Vice for a bargain so jumped at it. It turned out that the seller had a heap of other hand tools and wanted to sell them. After parting with a wad of bills I have now added the following to my collection.
Gramercy Tools 14" Saw Vise
HNT Gordon Gidgee 3/4” Skewed Rebate Plane
HNT Gordon 1/4” Dado Plane
Lie Nielsen Panel Gauge
Bad Axe Tennon Saw, Large
Veritas Skew Block Plane
Veritas Scrub Plane
Veritas Suface Vice
The one problem is I have blown my budget. I have run out of money and good will but I figure that is a small price to pay. It has added to my modest collection of hand tools.
I picked up an old blunt 24" tenon saw a couple of months ago so as soon as I get the saw vice set up it is getting a good service
The biggest problem I have now is my bench top. It is 3 slabs of battered 50x200x2000 jarrah. Will take a lot of work to joint the slabs and join them.

I wouldn't feel too bad. You've gotten yourself some fantastic tools. The only reason to feel guilty is if they go unused!
So don't do that...

No chance of that. I have more plans than time . I did the drive belt on the thicknesser flattening the jarrah slabs so I will be breaking in the scrub plane on one of the slabs that has a slight bow. I will hand surface the slab faces.
There were more tools there but I could not justify the cost considering how much use they would get. They were somewhat more specialised. You should find them on Gumtree in the next few weeks.

A short writeup on one of the hand tools I picked up last weekend. The Veritas Scrub Plane.
