H&F just expanded their range...I think.
Good morning forumites.
I've been doing a lot of internet window-shopping for bandsaws lately. I need to upgrade my 10", 1/2 hp carbatec saw to something with more grunt, and better goodness to last me a long time. I thought I had settled on the carbatec 1.5 hp, 14" model because that was as much saw as I could get for my $1000 budget ceiling .
Then yesterday I notice H&F had added a couple of new models. In particular, this one: http://www.machineryhouse.com.au/W955
It has a couple of features the CT one doesn't, like blade tension quick release, window into the blade bay, built in light, better emergency stop switch.....and stuff.
I know there're plenty of people who're very pleased with their H&F BP-355. Would the quality that's in the bigger machine bleed down to this slightly smaller unit?
Mostly I cut Australian hardwoods, cutting curves in material up to 38 mm, and resawing up to 130 mm (but that only very rarely).
Anyone care to embark on some wild speculation about how good this saw might be?
Cheers,

If it is built like the BP355 then it should do what you want. I would go see one on the floor and also see the Carbatec saw for comparison. Reading specs on line is ok up to a point but you need to see the thing to assess the quality of build.

It looks a very interesting saw Dave, surely someone has had a look at one in the flesh and give us some thoughts?
