Tree Identification

Hi all

Can anybody assist me in determining the tree type for the following 3 trees (different tree each picture)?

Tree in a suburban area in the South East of Melbourne.

I don't know what the first one is but the second one looks like Liquidamber.

Thanks. Are Liquidamber trees typically protected from removal?

First one is a bit hard to tell, but I agree with Len that the last one looks like a Liquid Amber, you should find a layer of spiky looking balls a smidgen smaller than a golf ball on the ground below it.

And no you shouldn't have a problem removing it, they have invasive roots especially if it's near a house

First pic looks like a brush box, second and third pic my guess would be liquid amber. Looks like it has had some major branches removed by the scar tissue. Cheers WC

So from unanimous opinions the last two are probably Liquid amber. The google pics seems to align well.

The first one does seem to be very similar to a brush box from what I can tell on Google pics. If anybody else has thoughts, it would be much appreciated.

I am a Queenslander and thus unfamilar with street trees in Victoria. However, it is not a Brush Box. More like a Corymbia like Citriodora or Maculata. Do the leaves have a lemon scent? Are there gumnuts lying on the ground that you can photograph so we can get more specific?

The last two pics are of the same tree from two angles. Look at the handrail, trunk shadow, the occluded scars and the branch architecture.

If thinking Brush box (I agree too) compare pics of leaf arrangement and the fruits much like gum nuts with ~pointed corners.

I'm with the others don't know the euc. but the other looks like a liquid amber. Seed pods should look like this. I've milled one last year and it is still drying. A lot of it is very unstable. No checking but a lot of movement. Some very nice spalting in the middle. Very pale when first milled.
