    Default Rosewood and Mallee Burl.

This is a box made from Rosewood and Malee Burl. The Rosewood came from Greg Ward at Boutique Timbers and the Malee Burl was a small piece I picked up at the Sydney Woodshow a couple of years ago.
The corner posts are Rock Maple and are held in place with 5 mm Dominos. The box and drawer are lined with a pigskin suede.
    The box measures 300 mm x 200 mm x 130 mm high.box1.JPGbox2.JPGbox3.JPGbox4.JPGbox5.JPGbox6.JPG

    Mmmmmm, nice.

Hard to pick which is the most impressive aspect - timber selection and workmanship or design.

Love it, Ruddy. Beautiful work, and the contrasting timber work well. Thanks for sharing it.

    Ruddy,
Just let me know min widths and thicknesses and as I get stuff out for the auction, I'll keep a look. Fiddleback and good or do you cloud if I can find some?

I love the lines, especially the curved front lip.

The only thing I would do differently (assuming I could aspire to, of course ) would be to stop the hinge pins.

    Minor quibbles aside... lovely work!

Little details like that and the drawer pull & lid handle make all the difference.
