Default Clock Making Youtube Video Series

    Greetings,

I know that this sub-forum seems to be mostly about wooden clock mechanisms, and about building wood clock cases, but ......

I thought some of you might find this series of Youtube Videos, and the associated Web Site, interesting. I don't think the links have been posted here before - but for all I know, the bloke who makes these videos could be a member of this forum.

    Anyway, the links:

A 12 Part Video - Making A Large Wheel Skeleton Clock
And the Video Maker's web site link - ClickSpring Projects

    Enjoy,

That was excellent. Just watched all 12.
Top quality videos. I don't own any metal working machines but it makes me wish I did.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

I agree, as a clock maker I've always wanted to go that one step further and make my own movements, I'm not sure exactly what I would need to do that but looking at his videos it's hard to tell exactly what he has but it seems he just may have a small lathe. I'll think I'll send him an email and find out, it's easy to purchase the tools necessary but the learning curve would prove to be quite difficult I think.

Wow! Just watched all 12 videos. They are excellent! I dabble a little bit in clock repair, and find these very inspirational. Oh for the machinery and the skill to use it!

I echo all the comments, polished, knowledgeable, articulate, what more can you say. Yes there is one more thing, direct and to the point without 15 minutes of preamble.

Don't forget to post your comments on ClickSpring's Youtube Channel as well - unfortunately he probably won't see all of these positive comments on this forum.

    Thumbs up

Chris' videos are amazing. Both his skill with the tools and the presentation of the material.
Check out his latest video on making an 'impossible' dovetail out of brass and aluminium.

I think Chris's equivalent in the Woodworking world is Frank Howarth and his stop motion videos. Some people just know how to tell a story and make it interesting.
