Default Finally finished - Jewellery box

It took a lot longer than I expected, but I finally finished it. With the arrival of our first child shed time gone to zero over the last 3 months .

Anyway - I had an idea of this jewellery box for a while, and kind of started building it without a proper plan, which was a big mistake. Learned a few new processes along the way too - shellacking and jointing panels.

    Here's the result:20150913_162756.jpg

Drawer fronts, side door frames and pulls are tassie oak, top and side door centres are huon pine.

    Cheers!

    Awesome work...very nice indeed.

I always try to have a basic plan for a project at the start, but I find there is always something that throws a spanner in the works and the plan is ashes...helps problem solving!!!

Lovely workmanship. Someone must have a lot of jewellery to store.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

I lined the drawers with adhesive backed felt.

Good design and nice work - I'll have to keep that in mind for future use

I know that feeling - too many drawers - I'm currently working on a cabinet with nine drawers plus the obligatory spare (just in case of a stuff-up!) - badly underestimated how long they would take which isn't good on a commissioned piece!
