It's been worth the wait Crowie, it's coming along very nicely. Pity about that mistake with the wheel direction, but at least you will be ahead with the next one as you've got half the wheels done already.
Will look great once you have got the clear on. Looks like the new dado set is working well.

THANK YOU GENTS ALL for the kind words, support and encouragement....

In haste to do the last post I forgot to give some detail of the wheel cutting process...
    from the jig,
    to the forstner bit recess,
the cutting of the blank with the T/C holesaw
and finally the cutting of the lugs with the special jig on the table saw with the dado blades set....

And today after a bit of cleanup I added one of the extra special finishing touches to this build, YES, a "Peterbilt" dog tag as a number plate on the back bumper bar of the loader.....

    Cheers, Peter..

PS - For Keith, note the exclusive signage in the background...........

Yes Bret but I think the photo is lying as I said to "oneye", they aren't as neat as I'd like to have them...the finish isn't up to scratch....Cheers, Peter

    Default Finally Finished....

Finally Finished....4 coats of polyurethane gloss clear....

And gents the loader had it's first test run last night with two [2] very excited grandsons....

BUT, Firstly a HUGE THANK YOU to Kryn [aka KBs PensNmore] of Murray Bridge for making me a near prefect set of wheels for the loader in Red Gum on his CNC machine.....They look amazing!!

The boys were driving the loader across the lounge room floor shoveling up beads & blocks and dumping them into the Tough Tipper....loads of fun.

I'm happy with the mix of timbers, there colours & grains; it's been a challenging build.

Thank you one and all for the support and encouragement with this project, it has stretched me again in my skills & know how...

The next project is will be a couple of Monster Trucks plus the Christmas Toy Making Pallet Challenge.....Cheers, Peter

Looks great Crowie. All the colours really stand out with the clear coating applied.
Did Kryn also turn the wheels on the CNC or just put the tread on with it? Which ever way they were made they look first class.
