Only had a small amount of time in the shed today. I was going to start on the wheels and axles but I thought I would be more productive if I started gluing some bits together, and that would also give me back some bench space. I glued the base to the upper part, cabin on and the rear bumper attached. Part assembled the buckets.
Like they always say, never enough clamps.

    Great work Dallas,

I thought you would never run out of clamps - the amount you have on your wall. Looks like a good assembly line there

    Regards

That just goes to reinforce my statement. Lucky I have quite a few of the spring clamps as they are a lot easier to apply to small items than the bigger claps. As you can see on the scoops, masking tape is very handy too for odd shaped things.

They quite often find their way on to my wish list. It's amazing how handy the spring clamps are for small stuff.

    Default Getting there

Today I decided to start on the assembly of the components rather than do the wheels and axles. I was able to get them all completed and final sanding before applying some lacquer tonight. Here are some photos of them assembled before any lacquer. Tomorrow it's the wheels.

    Default They're finished

Finally got all the wheels and axles done. Glad to see the end of them. Maybe I shouldn't be so stingy and buy them, but my thoughts are that if you have the facilities to make them then you should.
All assembled and a few coats of satin urethane to finish them off. Ready for the toy giveaway at our club breakup in a couple of weeks.
