Barwon Valley Woodwrights 25th annual woodwork exhibition
On the weekend of the 28th & 29th of November 2015, Barwon Valley Woodwrights will be holding their 25th consecutive woodcraft exhibition. We are trying to make this our biggest and best yet with a number of new attractions. The weekend is aiming to cater for the interests of men, women and children alike. There will be your usual demonstrations of woodturning, woodcarving, scrollsawing, and pyrography.
There will be static displays of woodwork pieces, and member's works for sale.
Wood suitable for turning, box making, and pen making will be for sale, and on saturday only there will be sales of Japanese hand tools.
Screw It Screws will be there with their trailer full of their special screws and associated equipment including their pocket hole jigs, which Rob will demonstrate over the weekend.
A local tool and blade sharpening company will be there to sharpen your hand tools for a discounted fee if you bring them in with you.
A special room will have demonstrations by Lace makers, Spinners & Weavers, and there will be ladies making intricate objects from beads.
Devonshire teas will be available for purchase (some say they are the best scones they have had), and there will be free giveaways over the weekend.
We will be at the:
Masonic Centre, 25 - 27 Regent St, Belmont, Victoria from 10 till 4 each day. (This is a suburb of Geelong)

Time to push this back up now that most of the other events advertised have passed, or close to it.

Hi All,
Really looking forward to the Exhibition. There are some very talented guys and girls in our club who will be exhibiting and some selling of their skilled handiworks.
I can only encourage any Forum members and their friends if they have the time to come and visit and enjoy the show and meet some new friends (and old).
I am sure it will be a great 2 days. We are even exhibiting my 2 locomotives - the completed Lion and my partly built 4-6-2.
Regards
Keith

Here's some pictures for you Crowie and the others who may be interested.
A couple of shots from different vantage points in the hall and a shot of a board someone set up about making fishing lures, Something I dabbled in many years ago and thought some of you might find interesting.
There was also another room where some ladies had demos of lace making and spinning wool. My girlfriend is a keen spinner and went along to make contact with them but apparently they could not stop bitching among themselves for long enough to talk to her. Oh well...
Anyway there were a lot of nice items on display. Some of the models of trains and other vehicles and machinery was spectacular.
The screwit man was there demo-ing his pockethole jig, which looked to be quite good, but not something that suits the work I do.
One of the members was selling spinning tops with the proceeds going to a local charity so I bought a few for the grandkids, although I could have made some myself. We got a few tickets in the raffle and headed home.
Cheers

Thanks for coming down Doug and appreciate the wrap up. Thought I saw a familiar face today but couldn't put a name to it at the time.
Here are a few more photos from the weekend. Unfortunately by the time I started taking photos quite a few items had been sold from the display. At least you can get a bit of an idea of what was there.
A couple of loco's in there that will be familiar to those who frequent the toymaking forum.
Although the numbers through the door were down due to clashes with other events in the region, we were still successful and had a great time, with a number of people showing interest in the club which is the main purpose of the exhibition.
