    Default Frankensander

Last week I asked for some urgent help for a thickness sanding problem. As usual, the forumites sprang forth and offered some really great ideas.

But due to having to have a couple of "engineering days" to fix some other machines, I went back to the original plan and threw a thickness sander together out of an old benchtop bandsaw that's otherwise been scavenged for parts for a couple of forum members.

I needed it cheaply and quickly so it's not super accurate and the shaft has a little wobble in it, but it's doing the job I need. Now that I know the motor can handle the load, I'll make a proper one with it one day and not just by hacking together the random junk I have lying around.

Basic, cheap and does the job. What more could you ask for?
