Many happy memories of France following a trip to the WW1 battlefields and the way in which we were welcomed by the people.

I have checked on my French relatives and friends and are all OK. It is interesting however that they all said they wished they could do what their Gallic hearts tell them to do and get out and march! The shutdowns and curfews precludes them from getting out to show the World that they are strong and that they are defiant. When the state of emergency is lifted I hope they will still feel this way and will march!

Absolutely nothing can justify the violence perpetrated in France.

Our thoughts are with all who have been affected either directly or indirectly.

    Australia has had

    Of course USA

Just days prior Paris was an attack on Beirut

Terrorist attack are not new we used to call them Raids such as Norsmen and Vickings, Roman's, Picts, Macedonian, Hun's,

I am not shocked at what took place in Paris with the large amount of persons entering many countries it was bound to come anywhere in the world who has opened its doors. I see more now why Australia has detention centres.

The retaliation taken how ever can only bring about what we all dread that is further retaliation around the world NOT where France dropped the bombs.

My heart goes out to all those killed, injured the families now having to deal with it. Then to the worlds peace keeping forces who have to deal with what is yet to come.

The UN has much to answer for.

Check out these statistics from Wikipedia, we only get to hear about a very few attacks. The Boko Haram group hardly get a mention on our news services, is that because most of their attacks are in Nigeria?

    Some more stats here

    http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-11-1...crease/6947200

The reason we don't hear about most of these terrorist attacks is that they don't happen in or affect the "Western" world, eg a few days before Paris there was a major suicide bombing attack in Beirut. Hardly any real news reports on that one.

The UN is a joke. What more do you expect from people that appoint Saudi Arabia to the Human Rights Council advisory group?

Let us not forget the terrorist bombing in Auckland in 1985, where a civilian was killed.
