    Default Gotta love a Lucas

Been getting smashed at the mill recently...breakdowns and temperamental old gear has been dogging me. So it was nice to get some production yesterday.

Had a local farmer getting rid of a bluegum on the end of his dam expansion, so sent out a mate Richard to pick them up for me.

    First log...

2.4 ton of sweet solid bluegum.

    Second log
    IMG_20151123_113425_381.jpg

2.7 ton of sweet solid bluegum.

He loads these himself, with no tractors, loaders, forks, just him and his ute, plus a nice bit of ingenuity.

The first log I milled at that length, the second one I cut down to 2.1 for the order I had. We started after lunch and had milled 3 cubic metres from the two logs before the afternoon was done....

best thing was I ended up with 25 3m 100x100 spare by the end of it. The bloke in the picture came in at the end, but all the 3m stuff was tailed by the missus.

Just love the reliability and confidence I get from my Lucas

Why just 4x4's from a solid clean log like that?

It would be interesting to know how your mate moves/loads those logs by himself...

That was the order I had mate - the spares total $1500 on their own.

What would you be slicing from these?

Wides with a boxed out heart. But orders must be filled. Just a shame when a good log has to go to small sections.
