    Default Review - "Easy Riser" Drill Press Upgrade

    Here's an interesting upgrade for your drill press table. Removes the need to use the height winder, and allows you to raise/lower your table more easily by simply pushing it down or pulling it up.

    Australian Invention too from the inventor that created the WASP sanding attachment for the drill press.

    Hope that helps.

    Good review, Dean.

    I installed the Easy Riser in my drill press two weeks ago and love the ease of use. Well worth the money.

    Cool. It was a bit fiddly on my drill press (H&F SPD-20B Metalmaster) because of the central tension control getting in the way a little, but I eventually found a way around it I think my drill press design was one of the exceptions though. Should fit 90% of drill presses easily. I take it yours was no hassle.

    G'day Dean,

    Real interesting, until I found out that it fits in the column of your drill press, one problem - the column to my drill press is solid steel. :eek: So I guess I'm the 10% it won't fit.

    It's a Klass Heavy Duty press, and I guess a solid steel column really does make it very heavy.
    I make things, I just take a long time.

    One way around puting the Easy Riseron the solid colum is to attatch a plastic tube to the back of the colum for the counterweight to go up and down in. A bit more fiddling around but doable . {is that a word}

    Would you then have enough clearance for the wire down to the table locking lever and back up to the motor mount? Seems like everything would be a little cramped with this method?

    "Doable" - If it sounds good, it must be a word

    As I said anything is Doable even if it is a bit of a fiddle.
    luckily the owners of these type are a minority as most drill presses have the hollow tube.
