    Default Puzzle

I'd like to have a crack at making this puzzle (the second pic is the same puzzle with the block rearranged), but it's got me stumped how it actually works. Why is the area different when you're using the same blocks? Any ideas?

The areas are the same, they just don't look it. The "hypotenuse" on the filled "triangle" is slightly concave, and on the triangle with the hole, it is slightly convex.

    See a full explanation here.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

Should be easy for me to make then... all it requires is sloppy carpentry to make the box loose enough to accommodate both figures.
