Gees, that is a spectacular piece of wood, and I like the way you have done the lid. How did you hinge it? Fitting hinges seems to take a lot of time to get it right, and you only get one go on special wood like this.

I think that your text is spot on .... with a piece of timber like that you need to let it shine.
Your design looks to be refined and you have been able to achieve the high degree of workmanship required to showcase the timber.
