    Default Wood glue.

I'm happy with triton's glue. Not just because its made by triton, but I think it really does glue up and hold well. There may be better products out there, but I use the glue that works for me.

If you can wait for mail order, then Carbatec (& Timbecon?) both stock Titebond I,II & III. Woodworks in Meadowbank(NSW) sell their own very good 'yellow' PVA type2 glue too.

I don't know what the ongoing supply situation with the Triton glue is - some glues have a definite shelf life, even if unopened.

Also, take a careful look at the Selley's PVA - they have both a regular Aquadhere and a 'Professional' one which I think is a type2 cross linking glue (more water resistant) but the packaging is VERY similar - just has 'professional' in black or red ink IIRC, otherwise the bottle looks the same.

Weldbond professional wood glue. Sets in 30 minutes, haven't suffered a failure yet, about the same price as Aquadhere Professional, available at WWW shows or your local Bunnies.

Have used triton glue for eight or more years and while happy with the bond have found the clean up of excess stained the timber and the glue being origionally designed for their biscuits contained some solids in the mix and edge to edge jointing in the past has provided some minor problems.
Decided to change and at the sydney wood show got some titebond 111
Have used it in two glue-ups since and am more than happy, great bond much better application nozzel and seal and so far easier to remove excess and no staining to the surrounding timber, personal opinion only but will stick with titebond in future.

Titebond used by most factories I know, says quite a bit about the glue, they can't afford call backs.

    Default A vote for Titebond

    Tonto,

If you can get it, Titebond II or III (or both) is an excellent choice. Titebond II sets up quickly and is somewhat waterproof. Titebond III is rated waterproof for outdoor projects. For complex glue-ups I suggest Titebond III Extend which allows extra time to get all the bits arranged for clamping.
    Cheers,

    Bob

Weldbond is great stuff. If only they would re-design the bottle so you could put it down without having to put the cap back on. Something to do with keeping the glue in an anaerobic environment I guess.

    Lightbulb

I have found that most PVA's and yellow glues will do the job. The only one that I have any problem with has been Polyurethane glues.......... I reckon that i must be doing something wrong 'coz i have no joy with it all. I have used 3 different brands and I'm not convinced that it is up to par ........... Personal choice.

Titebond 3 is my glue of choice. I used to use the Triton glue, but found that it suffered from creeping, which was a PITA for panel glueups like tabletops and chopping boards. I couldn't be happier with the Titebond product now.
